Walnut Hill press
The Walnut Hill press has a 1" thick top plate that is threaded 1.5"-12 to accept large reloading dies or special swaging punch holders. The press links that connect the ram to the press attach to the top of the press to avoid any load or spring on the press frame. The 1 1/4" diameter chrome plated ram is threaded 7/8"-14 to accept Walnut Hill dies or reloading adapters. Long life hard bronze bushings in the links and ram carry the swaging force better than bearings due to the greater contact area of the bushing. The ejection system is designed similar to those used on commercial punch presses. The Walnut Hill press has a dual stroke length so that it can be used to swage bullets or reload standard cartridges. A tee slot shellholder adapter is available for standard cartridges. Ductile iron castings with a tensile strength of 80,000 psi are used to make the press toggle and are poured in the United States instead of China like some presses. Bullets as long as 1.5", 600 grains, and up to .700" diameter can be swaged or, with the optional BMG kit, .50 BMG bullets up to 2" long and 800 grains can be made. Copper bullet jackets up to .050" thick or gilding metal jackets up to .035" thick can be used. The Walnut Hill press is a heavy duty press designed for long life and for serious bullet making. To swage .50 BMG bullets faster and more easily the What Cheer press is recomended. The What Cheer with a 6" long stroke and full hydraulic power for the entire stroke length makes it the ideal lower cost hydraulic option for the 50 BMG.
